About Sarah Amani

Sarah Amani a mental health nurse with 8 years' experience working with people experiencing mental illness and their carers. She currently manages an Early Intervention in Psychosis Team and leads the Youth Mental Health Network for NHS South of England (East).

Sarah's work has previously been awarded a National Leadership Council ‘Emerging Leader' Award (2010), Highly Commended by the HSJ 'Innovation in Mental Health' Award (2011), a Department of Health 'Mary Seacole' Award (2011) and a TEDMed Scholarship in 2012.

Sarah and her team worked with young people experiencing psychosis to come up with the idea for the ‘My Journey' youth mental health app. The app is currently available to download for free from Google Play.
